The citizen portal, on the Education Authority Webpage, is live from 12 noon on 10th January 2025 to 12 noon on 24th January 2025 so as online applications can be made.   Remember to list your choice of pre schools in order of preference and state how you meet the admissions criteria for each choice.

Ensure you upload your birth certificate and any other verifying information with your application. 

 

Deferral:  Legislation allows a parent/guardian to request to defer their child starting pre-school and primary school by one year. 

If you delay your child from starting Pre-School your child would then in turn delay starting primary school. This would mean your child would start pre-school aged 4 and primary school (P1) aged 5.

If you delay your child from starting Primary 1 This would mean your child would start primary school (P1) aged 5.
