We have been asked by the Education Authority Child Protection Support Service to share this video with our families as part of our continued commitment to safeguarding children and young people.
As we enter the Christmas season and you prepare for the school holidays , we are mindful that for some children and young people in NI, it may not be such a happy time. Research into increased incidences of domestic abuse during the Christmas school holiday break is supported by PSNI statistics for many years now. In school we are continually making our children aware of who they can talk to if they are sad or afraid or confused and of the trusted adults around them who have helping hands. We will be using these clips in school to help our children understand the concept of a 'trusted adult' and the importance of saying 'no' as part of our ongoing commitment to child protection and safeguarding:
